Associate Transport Project Logistics Engineer
Auto ImportC.H. Robinson is looking for an Associate Transport Project Logistics Engineer to support complex, large-scale freight moves across multiple offices and geographies. In this role, you will help design safe and effective transport solutions by partnering with internal Project Logistics teams, carriers, and customers from origin to final site. You will apply your engineering foundation and AutoCAD skills to support transport plans, AutoTurn analysis, lifting and lashing diagrams, carrier equipment reviews, and renewable energy project work. This is a hands-on, highly varied opportunity for someone who is curious, analytical, comfortable working through ambiguity, and excited to help build a growing engineering capability within Project Logistics. Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Design and implement transportation solutions for complex Project Logistics services, including method statements, route studies, and transportation plans Partner with pricing, solution design, operations, and other internal teams to build customer-focused logistics solutions Analyze carrier data, customer requirements, transport drawings, and multimodal options to develop risk assessments and optimized transport strategies Serve as a trusted liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal network teams to ensure clear communication and seamless execution Build relationships across customer organizations, including senior leadership, to strengthen partnerships and uncover new opportunities Stay informed on customer needs, industry trends, market conditions, and competitive intelligence to support strategic growth Support RFP and proposal efforts by reviewing requirements, facilitating customer discussions, and aligning solutions to customer goals Coordinate global deal team communication, including strategy discussions, customer Q&A, pricing inputs, executive summaries, and RFI responses Assist with contract review by identifying potential risks, clarifying scope, and partnering with legal and internal stakeholders to move agreements forward Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Marine, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Minimum 2-3 years of Engineering, project logistics, and/or oil and gas industry experience Experience with AutoCAD Ability to travel up to 25% of time (domestically and international) Preferred Qualifications: Freight forwarding experience (preferably project style cargo and breakbulk) Holds a EIT or PE designation Strong verbal and written communication skills Deliver customer-focused service by understanding customer needs, building trust, and providing responsive, solution-oriented support Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills to balance priorities and meet deadlines Demonstrated influencing, negotiation, collaboration, communication, and presentation skills Strong strategic orientation, relationship building, negotiation skills and business acumen Proven ability to adapt quickly to new systems, tools, and detailed processes while building proficiency in a fast-paced environment Proven ability to create and present comprehensive solutions and service packages to all buying influences Proficient in Autoturn Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs Values a diverse and inclusive work environment We will review applications for this role on an ongoing basis and encourage all interested candidates to apply at their earliest convenience. Compensation Range $66,300.00 - $139,700.00 The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
