Freelance Interior Designer – Residential Styling & Finishing Details

Seeking a freelance interior designer to support the accessorizing and finishing phases of mid- to high-end residential projects.

This role focuses on the final layers of a project: accessories, artwork, bedding, fabrics, decorative lighting, styling details, and polished client presentations. The ideal candidate has strong design judgment, a refined modern aesthetic, and the ability to work independently with limited oversight.

Responsibilities include:

* Sourcing accessories, artwork, bedding, fabrics, decorative lighting, and finishing details

* Identifying appropriate fabric options and substitutions

* Creating polished client presentations in InDesign

* Assisting with final selections, procurement support, and task tracking

* Managing multiple open items with accuracy, organization, and follow-through

Ideal candidate:

*Must be able to work US business hours

* Has experience with custom residential interiors and mid- to high-end budgets

* Understands scale, proportion, materials, color, and layered finishing details

* Is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented

* Can anticipate next steps without constant direction

* Communicates clearly and works efficiently under tight timelines

Software:

* InDesign or Similar

* Gather preferred

* Studio Designer or similar software a plus

Experience with design centers, trade vendors, custom upholstery, bedding, accessories, artwork, and decorative furnishings is strongly preferred.
