They are seeking an experienced Legal Document Specialist to support attorneys and staff across all firm offices in a fully remote position, requiring exceptional technical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Responsibilities Prepare, edit, format, and proofread complex legal documents Create and update Tables of Contents (TOCs), Tables of Authorities (TOAs), pleadings, briefs, and other legal filings Convert, format, and troubleshoot documents across multiple platforms and applications Provide helpdesk support for document-related and software application issues Assist attorneys and staff with document production requests and technical questions Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality while meeting strict deadlines Communicate professionally and effectively with attorneys, staff, and management Stay current with technology and software enhancements to serve as a firm resource for document preparation best practices Provide general administrative and office support as needed Skills Minimum 5 years of experience in legal document production within a law firm or professional services environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word 2016/365 (required) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint Advanced proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Advanced proficiency in Best Case Advanced proficiency in Best Authority Advanced proficiency in iManage Strong expertise in complex document formatting and styling Strong expertise in TOC and TOA creation Strong expertise in document conversions and cleanup Strong expertise in transcription and document production Ability to troubleshoot document and software issues independently Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities Strong team-oriented mindset and exceptional customer service skills Experience providing helpdesk or technical support preferred Familiarity with an incident ticketing system is a plus Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits The opportunity to work with a collaborative and supportive team of professionals Company Overview Founded in 1920, Akerman is recognized as one of the country’s premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers throughout the United States.
