Department Detail – The Donor Ministries Department at BGEA works to cultivate meaningful, long-term relationships with ministry supporters and to identify, develop, and deepen new relationships with prospective ministry partners. The goal of the department is to grow a strong base of support for decades to come. The department includes a core office staff and a regionally based field team who collectively serve the individuals, families and foundations that support BGEA with their gifts and prayers.

Through special events, personal visits, and mailings, the field team shares the work, impact, and needs of the ministry with existing and prospective ministry partners. Included in the department is the Billy Graham Christian Response Center whose staff daily respond to phone calls and email correspondence, providing ministry information and answering spiritual questions with biblical insight and direction.

The Prayer

Line ministry operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, where spiritually trained representatives and volunteers answer calls for prayer and present the Gospel. TVTM supports phone call responses to Billy Graham Classic TV programs.

Job Summary – This position will develop a region of High Impact Volunteers, including a team of leader volunteers, (including Regional Area Coordinators and Area Coordinators) that will effectively carry out the ministry of the Billy Graham 24/7 Prayer Line in a specific region of the United States.

Ministry Requirements

  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
  • Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
  • Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
  • Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Recruits, selects, equips, leads volunteers, and develops leader volunteers (Regional Area Coordinators and Area Coordinators), encouraging them and connecting them with the spiritual vision of the ministry.
  • Manage, monitor, and track the success of volunteers and leader volunteers (Regional Area Coordinators and Area Coordinators) using ministry metrics and reports metrics to management.
  • Develops regular volunteer meetings with all volunteer leaders within the region.
  • Develops an effective regional recruiting strategy for both volunteer leaders and volunteers.
  • Travels within your assigned region to recruit and meet with leader volunteers and their teams and attend required training.
  • Meets regularly with the national field manager for coaching, development, goal setting, and communication and participates as an active member of the Leadership Team.
  • Plans and leads an annual retreat for leader volunteers and volunteer’s celebration.
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to and implement all BGEA policies and procedures, attending all required BGEA Staff and Management meetings as requested.
  • Communicate department trends and needs to National Field Manager and interact with others within the ministry in a respectful, professional, clear, and concise manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications

Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge and agreement with the BGEA Mission, philosophy, and principles are essential.
  • BGEA Prayer Line experience preferred. College degree and/or five (5) or more years of direct management experience and/or leading and developing teams or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Prefer experience effectively leading volunteers and volunteer teams.
  • Experience with PCs, and telephone systems.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and biblically address conflict.
  • Ability to track and report outcomes.
